Carrying on from my post yesterday about my first DermaPen treatment with Dr Leila Sadien, I decided to do another, focusing on her. One doesn’t always know what to expect when you go to a new doctor and with this post, I hope you all see just how amazing Dr Leila is which hopefully will inspire you to book an appointment with her!
Hailing from Cape Town, Dr Leila studied medicine at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 2005. According to her, the core of her practise is to inspire wellness as she strongly believes in approaching her patients holistically while keeping in mind that beauty is a very important part of wellness.
I asked her a few questions about her practise as well as her treatments, have a look at them below!
What is your favourite treatment and why?
I currently love the results I am getting with the DermaPen and certainly am very overjoyed at my clients’ positive responses after having it. My favorite treatment for dramatic results however is still the Easy TCA as it is such a pleasure to see a person emerge with perfect, baby fresh skin after just 4 treatments.
Could you tell me a little bit more about the DermaPen and how it works for acne scarring?
The DermaPen creates microscopic puncture wounds in the skin which stimulates the immune system to bring healing factors into the punctured area. By healing, it breaks down scarring, pigmentation and old, broken collagen which allows for new collagen and elastin formation to be stimulated. This then creates a beautiful, new, smooth skeleton for the skin.
What is the best part of your job
It is definitely making people happy and healthy! I am changing the world in my own small way.
Are there any other things you would like to do/study or add to your treatment menu?
I am interested in thread face-lifts at the moment but will always try a treatment first before recommending it to anyone. I try to keep abreast of the ever changing aesthetic world as much as I can but I am very happy with the services I currently offer and feel they are already at the cutting edge of the industry.
What for you, is the most important things that one can do to maintain and achieve a healthy skin and why?
You definitely need to take omega 3 daily, eat lots of Salmon, cut out the toxins and refined carbs and drink plenty of water. It is true that a healthy skin happens from the inside before anything else!
What is the main thing that you think women are doing wrong with regards to skin care?
Eating badly and spending a fortune on products that cannot penetrate the dead layer of the skin. This just ends up causing congestion and dullness in the long run!
So there, seriously, how amazing does she sound nas have you seen how gorgeous her skin is?!
Be sure to visit her site here and book to get your first step into a better skin!
