*Grab a cup of tea and get comfortable, this is going to be a long one.
While for some time, my Fibromyalgia pain and symptoms have been somewhat under control, about 2 months ago, I started feeling worse than ever. It eventually got so bad that my pain level reminded me of what it felt like when I just got diagnosed 9 years ago. An increase in insomnia, stress, pain and inflammation were the most prominent and, under all of that, lurked the smaller symptoms like headaches, dizziness, fatigue and difficulty walking. I knew it was time to visit Dr. Graham for a follow up and, since that day, have felt like a shiny, brand new person.
As many of you know by now, I regularly go to Skin Renewal for treatments which, coupled with eating plans by Dr Graham, has drastically improved the tone and texture of my skin. I thought I would do a follow up post from this one to talk about how I have been handling my lifestyle changes, the challenges that come along with it and some of the things I have incorporated into my everyday living.
We all know that Rooibos tea has some amazing health benefits, but exactly how good is it for us? I got some expert advice from the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and promise that before the end of this post, you’ll be rushing towards the kettle to brew yourself a cup.
For as long as I can remember, boxing was a workout I was always eager to try. While I could never quite find the right class to suit my schedule, my ears always picked up at the slightest mention of boxing and, when my friends Farhaaz and Rashied started offering classes, I knew that I could finally fulfil this goal with the help of two really great trainers.
Since making the effort to cut out processed foods and sugars, I have been trying to come up with as many healthy treats as possible to keep me going when the 3pm slump hits. One of my absolutes favorites so far has been these amazing quinoa brownies. This has been the third time making them for the past month and I only just remembered to snap some images before eating the entire bunch. Packed full of healthy ingredients, these brownies will boost your energy, satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you full until supper-time comes around – plus, they could not be any easier to make!
