Say hello to my latest obsession, SKOON Skincare, an excellent beauty brand born and bred in South Africa. This bespoke brand is an all-natural skin care range that finds inspiration from a time when products were delicately made by hand with love and the highest level of care. All products are full in the aromas of nature’s abundance – think pure plant oils, rich butters, delicate floral essences and botanical extracts which all come together to create a beautifully pioneered skin care system.
Recently while on a shopping trip in Dischem, I came across this nifty little beauty blender which looks exactly the same as the original one without the hefty price tag. I have always been quite intrigued by the actual beauty blender sponge but definitely am not (nor will I ever be) willing to pay around R300 for a sponge.
Catrice cosmetics are always coming out with new and affordable high quality products that promise to do what they say more often that not. This brand is, in my opinion one of the greatest drug-store available brands we have in South Africa and is right up the alley with NYX and Essence with regards to formulation and quality. There are a couple of products in my makeup favorites stash from this brand which I absolutely adore and use religiously (such as the Nude eye shadow palette and Prime and Fine powder) and now, I am happy to announce that these five have too been a very welcomed addition to the clique.
A little over a month ago, I was approached by Pantene who asked if I was interested in trying out their products for a month and write my honest review of it over here. Naturally, I said yes as not only was I already an avid Pantene user, but I genuinely liked the brand.
When I heard that I would soon be receiving the award winning FOREO LUNA to test out, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Would it be another Clarisonic wana be? Would it also need to have its brush heads replaced every three months so that it does more good than harm? And most importantly, would it just be another scheme to get people to dish out money for something they don’t even need? I decided to not to get my hopes up due to the hurricane of face-brushes hitting the market in and instead, patiently waited for my package to arrive so I could test it out for myself.
